Virus is an infectious agent, which is able to replicate itself inside the cells of other organisms. Virology studies viruses with regard to its various life stages, evolving process and other characteristics. Viruses are classified according to the type of cells they infect such as plant cell, animal cell, fungal cell, etc.

Although, there are millions of virus species present, only few of them have been studied thoroughly by virologists. Needless to say, the major obstacle in the study of viruses is their very small size. However this also highlights the great scope for the research in virology.

“Comparative study of major DNA viruses”. In this project, I documented the statistical and general facts about the DNA viruses and tried to identify patterns in the available data. Although, the structural details for all these viruses were somewhat similar, the small observed distinctions, underlined the exact characteristics upon which the distinction was based. The interpretation of the project received ample of appreciation from the faculty members.
